I've got a lot of 'splainin' to do"!
My sister occasionally reminds me, "You haven't blogged in a while". Two words: I KNOW. You may have also wondered why I haven't been posting much lately.
Here's why...... I try to keep my blog light hearted and amusing. If I don't have something witty or fun to share, then I tend to not want to post anything. Life's circumstances have bogged me down lately. Now hear me: I know God is in control and that it's all gonna work out .... I'm simply in the middle of the storm at the moment, squinting my eyes & looking for the rainbow.
A little background: The nation has been going through a recession, as we all are painfully aware. Well, lucky us -- Our family got a head start, and has been in a recession for the last four years. My husband has tried his very best to provide for us on a commission based profession, and financial pressures have been common place.
Greg has learned that his insurance agency will close at the end of this month, and unless God opens doors quickly -- he will join the ranks of the unemployed. As a result, he and I have both been actively pursuing employment opportunities. At this time, we have received little to no reply to those inquiries. (cue the crickets....)
Praise the Lord that our family unit remains strong. I realize daily & consciously remind myself that IT COULD BE WORSE. We're in this together. Our kids are healthy & happy. That, in and of itself, is a HUGE praise.
Have you ever noticed that through our most difficult times, in hindsight, we can see how much we grew spiritually through that chapter? Please pray that our lives would point others to HIM, and that He would be glorified, would guide us and provide.

Praying too. Generally, I blog about the silly inane stuff b/c I'd really rather not touch the deeper stuff going on. These are tough times, but perhaps God will open doors for you that you may never have had the chance to walk through if it weren't for the recession.
I'm so sorry to hear that. Thank you for sharing this stuff along with the laughs! You're the epitome of that verse in the Bible that talks about lifting others up so that when you need lifting we can do it! Definitely will be praying!
I heard recently the word "encourage" to mean to infuse courage into someone. What a blessing to allow us to offer you some encouragement---infusing in you courage to press on.

Well darlin', I'm BEHIND on reading blogs...just now reading this! I am so sorry to hear about these difficult circumstances y'all are facing right now. I pray that the Father WILL make a way when there seems to be no way...He will give you wisdom and OPEN doors!!! Keep clinging to HIM, He knows it all from beginning to end and has a PERFECT plan for you and your sweet family!! Please keep us posted, LOVE and HUGS to you!!!!
